http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/01/20/sponge.bob.reut/index.html Is it just me, but has the world gone nuts? Regardless of your political/religous idealogy, am I the only one who thinks that this sort of thing has gone too far?
This is why I watch almost no TV except for "Airline", "The Kumars at No. 42", CCTV news (yeah, it's Commie propaganda, but the English is surreal), NHK news (she's cute, so help me, and the scenery segment is really sweet), and the Weather Channel. Dog shows, too. I used to watch Jerry Springer to remind myself why I hate populism, but I don't need reminding any more. I just check the Political Discussions forum...
Amen Brother. OOPS!! I might be labelled as an ultra right wing conservative. Make that a "right on!" brother....
I don't THINK SpongeBob is anatomically correct. Actually, he isn't even spongeically correct. He's a kitchen type petroleum based sponge, not the bottom-of-the-sea sponge... Seriously, this is exactly the sort of conflict that is inevitable when Bible literalists start demanding that society acknowledge the authority of the Bible as superior to well accepted cultural norms. Dr. Dobson has the virtue, at least, of ACTING upon his avowed belief system rather than pretending it doesn't exist. The inevitable consequence when such as Dr. Dobson acquire real power is the end of democracy. Neither God nor Dr. Dobson is likely to be swayed by a majority vote.
I just know that if I ever consider living in a pineapple under the sea, I don't want gay sponges next door. Well, gay is ok, but no sponges. On this I am unwavering.
I thought so I think it was the square pants and red strip anklet socks that gave it away. Im sure he is in constant contact with Teekie Weekie of the Tele Tubbies. Yellow square pants and pink triangles. It's those signals. Those signals. We all be damned!!! Help us Jerry Falwell, please help us. One last question. When will Jesus bring the Pork Chops??
To my knowledge, the allegation is bogus*- just as the Falwell "gay tele-tubby" charge was literally invented by some reporter with a hostile agenda. (Check out Falwell's web site and search; I did and against my prejudices was convinced.) The MSM hates Bush and that his most ardent supporters are Chrisitan. I expect these staged attempts to make the Red-state bluenoses look rediculous will only increase, now that the prez is safely re-elected. Trust me: I'm a pretty libertine - not to mention atheist - libertarian and no friend of the religious right. But unlike the MSM, I'm honest. -Orson *Dobson's Focus on The Family is just down the road from where I live in Colorado, in "the [Colorado] Springs."
Wow - Christian Conservative groups hate Sponge Bob? I will be sure to make my daughter watch the cartoon now. I found the best way to squash a Christian Conservative is purposely doing something they don't like
Re: Re: Christians angered by Gay Spongebob Interesting. They have do have a fairly positive review of the video on their site here.
Re: Re: Christians angered by Gay Spongebob If it is, it was reported by the AP, and posted on CNN, Fox, and MSNBC. If it is fake, whomever made it up did a good job at convincing everyone.
It appears to be true From their website: 'They're determined to promote the acceptance of homosexuality among our nation's youth.' Eek - they're gonna turn all our kids into homos!
First of all, aren't sponges sexless? Anyhow, I believe this story was made up by Mr. Crabs because he was angry that Spongebob ate all the crabby patties.
