Go to the following website to see the best buys in business education:

I also like Ian's advice, while you are thinking about it, start an Associates Degree from one of the Big 3: Charter Oak, TESC, or Excelsior. I've uploaded the cost breakdown for my daughter's anticipated AA from Charter Oak for your review.

Substitute some of my daughter's electives with Business CLEP's and DSST's, and you would be well on your way, with more time to make the decision of where to earn the 4 year degree.

    Good luck!

The schools you mentioned are certainly not "shady". Perhaps some are not regionally accredited (I have not checked). But some are quite expensive and there are lower cost or more prestigous options available.

Here is a partial list of schools offering business degree via distance learning. Many of these colleges also offer an associate degree:

do you have to be enrolled at excelsior to take ECE's?

is there a point of being enrolled if i am doing testing, and not graduating within a year? or do they force you .

You can, if you like, delay being enrolled until you have all of your requirements met. Enroll, then quickly graduate. Many have done that.

There are a couple possible benefits to enrolling a bit earlier. First, their policies might change and what they require you to complete, or what they accept for credit, may change. If you are enrolled, you will be grandfathered in (most likely) if there is such a policy change. Second, depending on your situation, tax benefits may be in your favor to be enrolled with them while taking examinations. (I am still trying to figure out if exams count as "related expenses" with the HOPE tax credit. No doubt, I feel like i should be able to file my ECEs as part of my tuition because they are from Excelsior, but I'm not sure if CLEP and DANTES are acceptable for the same purpose.)

to complete the excelsior bs finance degree you need the following courses, but excelsior themselves dont offer it? How am i suppose to complete the degree then. I looked through the credit by examinations only one DANTES will fit one of the 3 required examinations.

    1. Advanced financial management
    2 Financial management and institutions
    3. Security Analysis

You take these courses at any RA school that offers them and that allows enrollment for individual courses. You do not have to take any courses through Excelsior (except possible a 1 unit course). If you work in these areas you could also get credit via prior learning assessment.

im not sure if any universities here will allow me to just take one course. Whcih might force me away from the finance concentration and just into a general business degree?

Also, does TESC use the same examination by credit list compared to excelsior? or are CELP and DANTES exams rated differently at TESC. Cant seem to find the document on TESC listing all the exams equilvalent to which credits. thanks
