Program: Master of Science in Information and Communication Technology Price for the whole program: 4800 USD Website: http://www.sit.au.edu/mict.php
I dont go there. AU is well known here in Thailand. Im seeing a lot of names from AU on IEEE's Thailand board. Im not sure if you can take the degree completely online. I think you will need to visit Thailand to defend your thesis/project. If that is the requirement, it is still a lot cheaper to do MS in IT with them. I suppose doing MS.IT in the US online would cost a lot more than 10,000USD to complete it. alx
Hi. I would really like to know more about this school. I know accrediation is important and I would like to know if this school is. Anyone out there have an idea?
Typically I can get onto a school website and within minutes determine that they are accredited or government sanctioned or whatever they call it at the schools location. This school seems to have gone out of its way to hide any mention of accreditation, government approval, etc. Even their quality improvement pages make no mention of this. I don't know how the educational system works in that country but right now I think I've detected a faint but foul odor. Also, we've got two brand new members who seem intent on pumping this school. alx - Can you show us that this school has been approved by anyone who might pass for an authority on such matters? Please don't spray that "AU is well known in Thailand" perfume in my space. It doesn't smell that good to me.
This is not the cheapest online masters degree. AJU's sponsored tuition program is about $400 per semester, and you can enroll in multiple courses each semester. I know Aspen University used to have a $4,800 MBA if you paid upfront, but I believe they have since done away with that deal.
After further reading, I found that Prof.Dr. Srisakdi Charmonman, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the College of Internet Distance Education, Assumption University (AU), has an intensive resume (see http://www.charm.ksc.au.edu/ ). I personally think this school is legit.
This school does belong to the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) http://www.fiuc.org/cms/index.php?page=amembpcountryENG&country=Thailand Here is the list of US universities belong to the IFCU http://www.fiuc.org/cms/index.php?page=amembpcountryENG&country=United%20States . I am not working for this school. I just found it is cheap and interesting.
So, is it safe to say that Aspen University is the cheapest online Masters degree out there? If thats the case, is Aspen University accredited?
It is not safe to say that. In fact, it is very dangerous to say that. Western New Mexico University has excellent rates. http://www.wnmu.edu/VirtualCampus/index.html http://www.wnmu.edu/admin/businessaff/Tuition_Fees/2009/Silver%20City%20Campus%20Resident%20Tuition%20and%20Fees%20Fa%2008-Sp%2009%20revised.pdf
Two years ago, Aspen offfered their MS and MBA degrees for $3000 (if one paid up front). Of course, that deal is long gone now.
Nope. As TCord mentioned in an earlier post, Andrew Jackson University is much less expensive. Also, this is just the U.S. There are very inexpensive Masters programs in South Africa.
