Eastern Oregon State University at $114 per credit or roughly $342 per course

Actually, for Eastern Oregon, most courses are 4 and 5 credits. Only a few are 3. So the majority would be $456 or $570. Still a good value, but not in the "extremely cheap" range previously referenced.

Something very interesting about LSU distance learning courses is that, while they do offer graduate level courses, their own graduate school will not accept them.

    Hi Paul

    A few points:

    - EOU also offers 2 credit course, so the range would be $228-570 per course. I don't offer EOU as a specfic recommendation since the original poster has yet to tell us a major or how many credits they already have.

    - I would put EOU in the cheap category for cost. Extremely cheap? Do have a DETC cheaper than EOU?

    - I think LSU would be a great choice for undergraduate study. $67 per credit! I don't think it is uncommon for Grad schools to not accept credit taken at other schools at the same university. I have seen it at several schools.

    - Remember this is just the tip of the iceberg. You wanted a couple of examples, so I pulled them off the top of head. There are many more in the same price range, although LSU would be hard to beat!

There are 'many' schools that come in under the $400 limit. Here are some Utah schools.
    Link
Tuition per credit hour (effective Summer 2003):

    Two-year schools $65.00
    Snow College
    Dixie State College
    College of Eastern Utah
    Salt Lake Community College

    Four-year Schools $110.00
    University of Utah
    Utah State University
    Weber State University
    Southern Utah University

Fees: All schools may charge between $5 - $25 per credit hour for technology fees.

BYU comes in at around $345 3 s/h.

You can also search on Excelsior's
DistanceLearn service (<$300 search criteria) and come up with a bunch of schools. A caveat, I have found that some of the pricing info listed is not accurate.

Of course, you could also take CLEP and Dantes tests and apply them to a regionally or nationally accredited school. This would probably be the cheapest approach.

I guess it comes down to a simple question. If you are not saving money or earning a rather esoteric degree that is only offered through a DETC school, why would you want to go to a school whose degree does not offer you the greatest utility????????

    I don't know either,
    Tony

    ACCIS accreditaion

I am thinking of finishing my BS at ACCIS.

If you are getting the undergrad for grad school I would talk to the grad school first. The only problem I see is that most Regionally accredited schools will not take their accrediation to go on to a masters.

This may not be a problem for you but with me I may want to go on to get a masters in Library science. THe masters program has to be at an ALA accredited school. I have not found one that will take DETC without RA also.
