Yes, didn't get responses and really want to know people's thoughts on this

ACQUIN doesn't provide any degree-granting authority so it's effectively useless as a measure of whether the degree will be accepted anywhere. So is BAC, ASIC, and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), all of which Charisma claims. You've been asking about this school since 2018 and the answer hasn't really changed.

Turks and Caicos claims to have authorized them to award degrees but as a British Overseas Territory can they even do that? WES doesn't list them in the Degree Equivalency tool. They don't show up on the British government's list of recognised bodies: https://www.gov.uk/check-university-award-degree/recognised-bodies

They're listed by WES and are on the whitelist (able to be reviewed). You have to sign up with an account at WES to see them. It appears that the public tool doesn't include all of the schools they're currently reviewing.

Do you have a link? When I log in to my WES account and go to the Degree Equivalency tool it appears to take me back to the same one non-logged in people see.

To see the listing, you have to create an evaluation application and then select:

Country or Territory of Education - Turks and Caicos Islands
Type of Education - Higher Education
Name of the Institution - Charisma University

Once you put Charisma University in that line, tap or click your mouse into another fill-in field. Only when a school is not being reviewed (normally blacklisted) a message will pop up letting you know the school is not being reviewed by WES. No pop-up happens for Charisma.

Of course, none of this means Charisma will get a favorable evaluation nor does it have any bearing on their official status with Turks and Caicos/UK Government, but not being blacklisted is a good initial sign.

I checked but will do this and see. They had claimed they are now evaluated by WES so this may just be a pointer to it. I also confirmed they are evaluated by Josef Silny & Associates, Inc also a NACES member. This I saw on a profile on linkedin

I see their former CFO makes that claim: "ACBSP & ACQUIN Accredited Ph.D. Certified US Equivalent by Josef Silny & Associates (NACES Member"

I think it's a possible conflict of interest though. Also, hiring a PhD student at your own school to be a staff member?

He's the CFO, not a faculty. There is a commissioner in the commercial capital of Nigeria who has a Phd from Charisma and another DBA
https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-rabiu-olowo-78202420/ and also another guy who is a CFO who told me he enjoyed the course content https://www.linkedin.com/in/oluseyi-olanrewaju-mba-msc-phd-m-iod-fccm-fcti-cgma-fcma-fca-fcca-42b9607/ .

There are also thousands of US government workers with unaccredited degrees. That doesn't mean anything. Enjoying something is also not really a helpful proxy either because they have no basis on which to judge the quality of the education they received.

It's not uncommon for a worker to do a course in the

Very true. That has been the closest feedback I've gotten. However, their qualifications can be verified with the Ministry of Education in Nigeria, this is done for certain purposes in the country. The ACQUIN accreditation changed everything as it is recognized in Germany and Europe.

Charisma is not on the Anabin list of recognized schools in Germany. I'll defer to someone German about whether ACQUIN really changes anything.

See page 18. Three experienced evaluators give negative opinions on Charisma. In particular, one notes that the only criteria to be licensed as a university in Turks and Caicos is to pay a fee.

That says something, because J. Silny has a reputation for being the most knowledgeable evaluator about the Caribbean and Latin America.

This was obviously pre ACQUIN accreditation. That is why they sought this accreditation.

"Obviously" before? It was published 30 April 2020. The AQUIN Report (https://www.acquin.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Charisma_University_Accreditation_Report.pdf) lists 24 September 2019 and 24 March 2020. I'm no calendar-ologist but I think the ACQUIN report predates those evaluators' opinions, potentially by several months.

Why all the effort to try and convince others that Charisma is legit? If they are, they should stand on their own merits.

Before Charisma, you were asking questions about NEOS, a school that came into existence and flamed out in a year. Before that, it was SMC, blacklisted by WES. Why all the focus on these schools on the margins?

I like to gather information, I've seen some schools get recognized eventually. NEOS eventually became SMC Education which got accreditation in Malta.

In response to my email, Josef Silny says they can't confirm or deny they evaluated Charisma and that if I wanted to verify Cade's credentials he would need to put in a request himself for the evaluation report - assuming he had one done. So we have only that person closely connected to Charisma to go on. Color me unconvinced on the evaluation front for now.

Fair enough. I know another person with his credential evaluated in the USA though. However, I do not know which evaluator he used https://www.linkedin.com/in/sammie-ruona-edigbe-ph-d-a520a525/
He's in Canada now but stayed n the US for a bit before moving to Canada. Knew him here in Nigeria.
