I have heard many great things about Capella University and am about ready to apply. I am interested in obtaining my PHD in business and want to make sure that I am making the right decision. Do you recommend Capella? What other good DL schools for my field are out there?

Capella has often been discussed in this forum. A search will find the postings.

It is one of many good choices for the short residency doctorate in business, along with Nova Southeastern, Union, Walden, Touro International, and a few dozen others, including some popular and much less expensive Australian and South African opportunities. It often is a good idea to shop around.

It is a good program, the main problem is the tuition fees, there you have to pay a fix fee of about 4500 dlls every 4 months regardless of the number of courses you are taking, so it is not attractive for someone thinking on doing it part time,

Cary, I have completed all my coursework and comprehensives at Capella in the School of Education. I am on schedule to defend my dissertation in December (exactly 3 years from when I began). Some have completed in 2 years, some longer than me. I was optimistic about 2.5 years, but I just couldn't get through that quick. I did learn a few very solid tips that have helped me along the journey.

If you would like to ask any specific questions, I would be happy to respond via email.

RF Valve's information is not totally correct. Capella's tution will range from about $1350 per course for a BS in business to about $3328 per quarter at the undergraduate level.

A slip of the finger - that is $3328 at the doctoral level.
