Following a complaint, we have found a website for this body

1] Canbourne is not recognised by the UK authorities

2] The postal address on the website is incorrect

3] The domain registration details are concealed via domainsbyproxy

4] The web-site contents appear to be copied from Bournemouth Unversity web pages

5] The Chancellors biographical details are remarkably similar to those of the Chancellor of Cranfield college

6] The IP address suggests that the site may be based in Israel

People quoting studies with or from the university include US Representatives, orthopedic surgeons, footcare specialist, academics, businessmen and evangelists.

This now brings (according to my calculations) a total of 55 different names used for the UDP scam. As Ezell and Bear point out, there may have been some breakaway and lookalike scams created from the original Romanian operation, but it is certainly growing. And it will keep growing, so long as a degree is used as one of the primary proxy indicators of ability by employers.

Hi George - The topic of the "Romanian operation" and the various spinoffs is not entirely foreign to me but I'm wondering if there is some sort of summary that might be provided (or pointed to) that might serve to get newbies (and me) up to speed on this branch of the degree mill world.

    Hi Jack,

George Gollin has a good introduction to the topic here whilst the most comprehensive write up is to be found in Degree Mills by Ezell and Bear. See Appendix B, The "University Degree Program" - The Biggest Degree Mill Ever, pages 201 - 218. It's a very entertaining read!

Quite a few were associated with, which seems to have vanished leaving only a google cached copy behind. I have no doubt it will reincarnate somewhere.

The text on the front page read

"Bulkleader has been in the University Industry for the past 4 years with an excellent reputation that we will continue to maintain. degrees in medical fields from Canbourne

A salesman from Canbourne called me a while ago. I was assured that Canbourne doesn't sell degrees in medical fields.

Somebody's telling lies. From the web site for a (U.S.) west coast medical group:
The Canbourne customer must have realized that he had done a foolish thing, because the site is now scrubbed of reference to his PhD.
