Can someone confirm the conversion of FEMA credits using TESC credit bank?

I've read here that one person was able to convert the FEMA IS classes to actual credits at Excelsior by using the TESC credit bank as an intermediary. I also know that you can do it by using the CC's that accept the FEMA credits directly (at $60 per credit) for their emergency management programs, but obviously the first option is cheaper.

Can anyone confirm that they've done it through the TESC credit bank?

Cool blog, you are a good writer! On another note, perhaps our valued "data mining expert", and I am proud to say my "friend" Ted Heiks could do one of his infamous searches. I remember the the post you are referring to, but cannot place the moniker.

    Keep up the good work!!!

    Paging Michael Gates

The poster in question was Michael Gates and he is still around here, maybe he will oblige you with a post to this effect. You can do a search on his name to it may come up with something.

Yes, thanks for the reminder on the poster's name. I've read his info, I was hoping someone else has had a similar experience and can confirm that his situation was not isolated.

    I'm curious too

I would like to know this myself also. I just started to do the sequence of FEMA classes and I was going to credit bank them at TESC. I hope someone else comments as well!

About ten days ago I sent in the non degree services form to open up a credit bank with TESC with the intention of doing this. I plan on faxing in the request to FEMA that the transcript be sent to
    TESC.
I did not put on the form that I was transfering in any other credits nor did I specify that I was going to have FEMA send the transcripts. I just filled out the form with my contact info and included a check for $350.

I plan on calling TESC tomorrow to see if it is open yet and if it is I'll fax the request to FEMA that the transcripts be sent.

I'll post how smoothly this process went once it is complete.

I called and confirmed that the creidt bank was open on May 26th.
I faxed in the request to FEMA that the transcripts be sent to tesc the same day.
I imagine it will take about a month to get
    the credit posted.
I'll post here when it is.

I just received my transcripts from TESC today.
It appears that they awarded me credit for all the FEMA classes I took expect for IS331-Introduction to Radiological Emergency Preparedness. I'll look to see if there is a course like it in their catalogue and see if I can get credit for it.
Now what I'm waiting for are the National Fire Academy credits to appear. These are important because two of them I expect to be UL credit.

So to recap, I took the FEMA tests, I opened a credit bank with TESC. When I filled out the TESC form, I put nothing but my contact info and enclosed a check for $350.
Once I had confirmed it was open, I faxed in the trascript request and two weeks later TESC sent me a printout of my newly awarded credits. Easy as that folks. It is important that you refer to MichaelGates awarded credit list so that you don't take exams that they don't give credit for. (There are quite a few). I went straight down his list and took the same exams that he got credit for.

A quick update regarding the NFA credits.

I called the number of the place I requested the transcipts from and asked if the transcripts had been sent. They confirmed that they had. I phoned TESC to ask them if they received the transcirpts. The lady I spoke to was vague and told me that if I wanted to include anything on my TESC transcipts, I would have to send them a written request that they be added. So I photocopied the certificates that I had received and wrote a letter stating that I wanted them included on my TESC transcripts, that they were ACE approved and what course number I thought they equated to.
A week later, I receieved an updated transcript with

    EDM 390 1credit
    FIS 101 1 credit
    FIS 391 2 credits!!

added to the other 25 FEMA credits.

Basically, if you do what I did and put nothing on the credit bank form when you open the account, it appears that they put the credits from the first transcipt that they receive on it and that all other credits that need to be added need to be requested that they be added.

So for example, I just finished a couple of Dantes exams, if they are to go into the creidt bank, I need to let TESC know via a letter around the same time I request that the transcipts be sent to them.
