No problem at all; we did require a lot of close supervision.

Well each OCS platoon did have an officer in charge; mine was a 1st Lt just back from Okinawa. The guy never stopped running; he was always running even when we were at chow; but he never had us do ANYTHING he wasn’t doing right along with us. One thing I can say about OCS at Quantico … it’s a “one-time” deal (mostly all physical unlike TBS) … once completed, no one would voluntarily go through OCS twice— TBS maybe, but never OCS. :usa2:

I suppose that’s why the Marine Corps had all newly commissioned 2nd Lts complete 6-months at The Basic School immediately following, in my case, OCS (while at TBS, we referred to ourselves as ‘3rd’ Lieutenants). Even though my MOS was 0802 (artillery); all Marine Officers are infantry officers first (USMC's philosophy was that you can't support what you don't understand), e.g., The Basic School. And then there was Ft. Sill, (Lawton) OK— another story for another day.

    Semper Fi!
