I have about 101 credits via a local community college and then a 4 year college but left a few years ago due to a few reasons.
I started in a marketing degree, then went towards techology, so I have a mix of computer and a lot of business classes.
I'm not very interested in programming but more general tech and networking so I thought I should avoid CIS, right now I'm a network administrator by day, and on the weekends I'm a chef at a restaurant we started up a few years ago, my hours are pretty crazy but being so close to my BS I would like to finish it.
I'm wondering from everyone's experience what is the best way and place to go about something like this, and do any of these places credit your job experience as well?
    thanks in advance,
    Daniel

  2. Daniel,

There are many bachelor degree completion programs available -- several in liberal studies or general studies, some in computer or information science.

See http://distancelearn.about.com/cs/compinfoscibach/ for links to some computer and information science undergraduate programs.

Several colleges do award credit for prior learning -- through transfer, examination, or portfolio assessment. Charter Oak, Excelsior (formerly Regents) College, and Thomas Edison State College are most often mentioned as being the most flexible and accepting.

And I'd also check with the university where you took courses -- does it offer a degree completion program through distance learning? Sometimes these aren't well advertised -- look for a "division of continuing education" or "extended learning" or such.
