I have a coworker who talks about how he went to USF for 4 years and how I never went to UF for a single day but have a graduate certificate from UF. He talks like he walked on fire then water and got a degree in "communications". He always finishes up by saying, "but I guess in the end it is all the same.." in some sort of admission that he wasted some of the time sitting in a chair. Of course it would not be a complete waste of time, he did learn a lot.

How do you like Athabasca? How are the courses? How would you describe your DL experience with them? I'm considering taking some courses with them and would like some feedback from a current student.

    Thanks!

No, these people get Master's degrees in TESOL or Applied Linguistics. There is always a certain native speaker bias in any EFL context, but the more qualified the position, the less it counts. In my experience, the NS+unrelated BA combo only works for the lower-end teaching positions or in areas where there is a shortage of qualified teachers, which admittedly are numerous these days.

I seriously doubt very many B&M students regret their college years.

I'll take a DL degree with a couple years of industry experience over a B&M degree with no experience. If the experience is the same and the only difference is B&M vs. DL degree, it's a wash to me. It's all in the interviews and individual candidates from that point out.
