To Kamala Harris's chagrin, Biden thinks he would have won against Trump. He said polling indicated he would have won. Here's my take on that. Biden is suffering more from dementia than I previously thought. I can't imagine what polling he's talking about. All polling I've ever seen showed he would have been destroyed by Trump. Maybe not a McGovern bad wipeout but another episode like his last debate with Trump, it might have gotten pretty darn close. I really had a lot more sympathy for Biden until I heard about this. I would be interested in your take on this.
I think we can give Biden some slack. This is one ungrateful nation these days, and he's received the brunt of it for years. I disagree with his assertion, however. His debate performance fed right into his opponents' narratives about him. I was horrified at his performance, and furious at his handlers for sending him out on that stage. I'm also disappointed that he even ran at all, but I can understand why he did. His performance--and his reluctance to step aside long before it--dug a deep hole for Harris, from which her campaign could not emerge. Sadly, Biden's ill-advised campaign will obscure his accomplishments. And it paved the way for the country to return to the very thing that blighted it so badly in the first place.
I agree with everything you said. I was giving Biden a lot more slack until he made this statement. He accomplished some really great things in only one term. His Thursday interview with Lawrence O'Donnell was very good, I thought.
When he sways to music for 40 minutes and forgets he's at a political rally, we can consider the possibility.
Trump is senile, too. It isn't a competition , they are both unfit to serve. That being said, play Ave Maria again.
You are correct. Senility is not an actual disorder. Let me rephrase: both men show clear signs of cognitive decline.
I think there should be a rule that convicted felons can't be President. The President is supposed to uphold the laws of the land. Being a convicted felon means the person is not fit to serve that role, IMHO. I don't like JD Vance but don't imagine he could be as bad for the country.
No. He would have lost. At least, I think so. Biden has never been very popular outside his own district. Not sure why. He just isn't. More interesting to me right now is Mr. Trump. Trump, folks, is OLD. He is older than I am by some eight years and I don't think he looks, sounds, or acts very vigorous anymore. He doesn't seem to have nearly the energy he had eight years ago nor would anyone expect him to. Life happens. With age comes chronic disease and disability no matter who you are. Trump doesn't smoke or drink which will surely help but he's obviously lost some weight which might be a good thing but also might be a very bad sign. We don't know and I don't suppose we ever will.
