    Hello all,

I'd like to put a question out to all the lawyers (budding lawyers) on the board.
Presently, I'm employed full time and can't find the time to attend Law School full time (the only way in Canada). I'm interested in pursuing a Law career. Can anyone tell me what is required to work in the USA, meaning could I become a lawyer in the USA with an LLB from the UK? I imagine there are State regulations-- as a think out loud-- I'm trying to acquire an understandng of what is required.
    Thanks in advance
    Fritz

You are asking two questions, I think. 1)What does the U.S. require to become licensed as a lawyer? Answer: It varies from state to state. 2) What does the U.S. require for a foreign national to work here? Answer: A visa and a work permit, the obtaining of which is a complex subject in its own right.

A D/L UK LL.B. will not by itself qualify you to take any state Bar exam that I know of.
