In my last full time job with a major aerospace company the only entry level jobs that compared with engineering (salarywise) required math degree. It turned out that almost all math hirees were women because thay were the ones who earned math degrees.
This company used these math graduates to perform paramtric studies mostly concerned with predicting costs for government contracts.

I have four friends, all got their degrees from B&M schools

two are investment bankers, one is a mutual fund manager, one is a mortgage analyst

their degrees: a BS in history, a dual degree in Economics and International Relations, a BS in Physics and a BS in Psychology

none of them have MS degrees

they each made more money in their first 3 years out of college than I will make in the next 6 years

that's one BIG + about B&M schools, recruiters coming and interviewing students, if you make good grades, you're in,

all of my friends were hired by firms that specifically did NOT want business trained people. they wanted people they could train to do it their way.

after working for 3 years, one friend is now teaching English in China, one is going with an NGO to do research in Africa, one is going for a CFA and the other is just taking time off to relax
