associate degree without high school

    I haven't read the entire string, but my good friend has a Masters from Cal Poly and does not have a HS diploma. My nephew just got his AA from DVC and had dropped out of HS. (neither has their GED as well).

    I don't think the military will accept you unless you have a HS diploma. I think they will accept a GED depending on your ASVAB score and your MOS. Of course with the war going on, I suspect that the military is accepting a lot more than they did in the past.

    You are right: even to join the military you need a high school diploma. GED acceptances are becoming more and more rare. As for openings in the military, you'd be surprised. The Navy is currently trying to shave down 6,000 people/year and the Air Force, 15, 000/year for the next 5 years. There was a big article in the navy times about it. The Army has increased it's quotas, however.
