You are a lot more hopeful than I am. I fully expect people to use this logic. Dave Wagner may like to take note that it is a perfect example of affirmation bias.

@Maniac - odd correlation re: Dave

    Maniac -

Can you tell me why, when I look up posts by "douchebag" all I get are Dave's posts? See attachment..

I guess you are trying to make a joke? Ironically, a REAL search for that word turns up only six posts... more than one of them are yours :)

The correlation I made to Dave is bifold. For one thing, he has been a contributor to this thread. For another, he often uses psychological terms while relating his opinions. In this case, I figured that he would note "affirmation bias" in the people that Cyber were talking about

The logic seems more that if you have the great academic job you may get the online doctorate, not the other way 'round...

I think the possibility of anyone landing a tenure track, B&M teaching position is pretty slim these days.

I was lined up for a TT interview but changed my mind. I really am not ready to leave the corporate world completely. I did not want to waste anyones time interviewing for a position I would have no intention of taking.

As stated, I was prognosticating about total acceptance.

    Hi MC,

I understood what you were saying... My critics get tired of being wrong nearly all the time, so they resort to name calling to reduce cognitive dissonance. It is a perfectly natural phenomenon and if I have to some day cope with being wrong about everything, I may employ such techniques to lower my psychological discomfort... :)

Dr. Lady is no longer with Aspen, so I doubt if anyone else at the school is pushing for the addition of these programs to Aspen' s portfolio. Indeed, waiting for the programs may not be a smart move...

As online education seems to be so popular nowadays, I see that schools are relying more on adjunct faculty than ever. If the trend continues, I can see that TTs will become thing of the past and most professors will be contract employees just like in the corporate world.
