This is an update from one of my earlier posts.
Well, looks like I have taken the plunge. I am going to attend CCU. At first I thought that I would run into problems with getting certain courses accepted into their curriculum. I was helped by the admissions department quite alot.
The person that was the most help was Shawn Moustafa in the academic office.

It all began with me sending in all my transcripts to CCU, TESC and Ashworth.
All the Universities wanted to have me as a student and so the game was on...
Ashworth, after only sending in my admission fee sent me my first lesson. This was without even contacting me or letting me know how many credits would transfer into their program. I was not happy with this situation, I was informed that if any credits that were older than 10 years old would not transfer.....So that bit of information ended my relationship with Ashworth.
Most all of my credits are older than 10 years old.

Then comes TESC. They are polite on the phone but take forever to let you know anything about transfer credits. They also have a policy about older credits, but if you still work in the field, you must talk with an adviser and go from there. It has been four weeks since I sent in all transcripts, which are all at the school, and am told that it may take another 3 to 4 weeks to get them reviewed. I have not given up on TESC. I am still interested in the Electronics Engineering Technology Degree.
So I guess that I will wait for the information to be sent to me.

CCU....What can I say....They were "Johnny-On-The-Spot". Thank God, they care about customer relations and your business.
I was treated like royalty and was never put aside. From the first phone call to Patricia Shumaker, I felt like I was at home. I felt like part of the family.
She had time to answer all my questions with out rushing me through anything. I also want to let you know about the academic office staff. They were exceptional. Professor Shawn Moustafa took the time to personally review my credits over the phone. After some intensive questioning on my part, because I wanted as many credits to transfer as possible, the Professor and I agreed that some would not transfer and we came up with a great program for me to tackle. SO........A+ for CCU and their staff.
I have sent in my money and look forward to starting my first course and completing the BSBA Program.

Right on bro! You made a good choice. I really loved their book rental program, it really saved a lot of money. I wish all schools did that!

    Take care,

    Abner :)

Why did you decide to go with a DETC program as opposed to a RA program?

I am going to CCU, a DETC University, because of the program(s) that are available, transferability of my transcripts, government and private sector acceptance (jobs), ease of doing the online studies and cost.

I do have an AAS degree from an RA college, Excelsior.

My plans are to continue with my studies and finish with an MS degree. The degree will either be in business or education.

For what I want to do, this is the perfect step.

    Thanks for asking.....

I think you made a good decision and as a CCU Alumni myself, I too found their service and curriculum to be a pinnacle and one of vast importance as well when choosing to continue my degree program and "finish what I started."

Good luck in your new degree program and we look forward to hearing news when you complete your program.
