Ashworth

It's been awhile since the last thread on Ashworth. I just enrolled in their criminal justice degree program. I believe it is better than Pacific Western. Maybe no comparision.

Pacific Western is a non-accredited school (I think). Ashworth is a DETC accredited school. Yes, Ashworth would be a better school to goto in my opinion. Previous posts on this were just pointing out that DETC (and other NA) degrees are difficult to transfer to a majority of schools (because alot of regionally accredited schools have a strict no NA transfer policy). If you were to attempt to transfer your degree to another NA accredited school, then it would prove to be easier to transfer credits.

Now, as far as employment with an NA degree, I guess it depends on WHO you want to work for and in what field. I work in the semiconductor industry and there are a few people with NA tech degrees (some in mangement positions... although maybe from experience rather than their degree.. who knows). I have seen a couple of NA degree grads with entry level positions and no prior experience (indicating to me that the degree got them the job).

Don't screw around with anything less than RA. Some of these dreamers can believe that DETC is just as good, but those of us who choose to live in the real world know different. As far as "state approved": all of our public high schools are "approved" and we know what a outstanding job their doing.
