I have two questions for you.
    1. Are you sure that UNL treats DL students as in-state students or are you conjecturing?
    2. Are you suggesting that UNL is the only RA reputable program that can be completed at a distance?

At 250/credit, it is fair to state that UNL is the least expensive RA doctorate in education that is available at a distance.

I didnt miss it by much now did I Ike?
Lotus Notes run 15.00 on top of my estimate = 249.75/CrHr
It appears they have increased slightly over last year when I inquired about the program.
Certainly a recognizable institution if one is interested in an Education based doctorate.

How do I plead? Please enter "no contest" for me. I agree. UNL is one of the most recognizable universities in education fields that can be offered through DL.

    UNL

I went way beyond any of you=I called and emailed and even submitted the online application. The 14,8K figure is correct, and thats over three years. So its by far the least expensive. Only catch (isn't there always one?) was that they require GRE scores, and although I have my M.Ed, I never had to take it. Anybody have any tips for me? Guess I have to go take it if I want to be accepted, huh?

GRE ... yuk. I'm in the same boat ... never took it. Guess I have to go figure it out. (Also in need of advice.)

Oh yes, they do requrie the GRE and trust me there is no way around it. I have spoken to the head of the program twice about it to see if there was any way around this...and of course there isn't. He was very pleasent about the conversation though. Just to give you a heads up, he said that most of the students that get accepted average around a 1500 on it.

They have rolling admissions though so you can start the program at any time. Best of luck!!

A 1500 on the GRE is very doable. The verbal and quantitative are the areas to score your points, the analytic section is tough.
Some schools do not factor in the analytic only the verbal and quantitative. Eastern Tennessee State University does that for their EdD program and requires around 1100. I would wonder if they (UNL) would consider the Miller Analogy Test?

Dumb question, but where does one go to take the GRE?

The only bad thing about taking the GRE is that it takes over 4 hours !! Not only is your mind numb, but your rear end aches, your hand is cramped and you get to the point of not giving a damn. I wonder what scores would be if it were a 2 day test?
Scores would have to be adversely affected the longer one has to be tested.
The Miller was 50-60 minutes - much more manageable.
