Are US employers bias towards foreign degrees ?

There’s always someone who will denigrate any degree different from theirs. I’ve been at conferences and heard people rubbish both US and UK doctorates, but this usually only happens when they think their audience are reliably part of ‘their’ group, whatever that is. Sadly, academia has its share of immature ill-mannered people. In my experience, questions about this issue disappear when you begin publishing significantly, as the proof is in the pudding.
