Just wondering who works in the Telecom / Service Provider market. I work for a super Regional Cellular Carrier. Worked in Customer Service to a Telecom Help Desk troubleshooting Roaming Issues with customers and other providers, now work as a Service Technician doing electronic repair with cellular phones.

    Anyone else work in Telecom?

Very cool! What kinds of equpment do you work with?

When I was doing roaming support I worked with Nortel and Lucent switches. We also use Tellabs DACS and Tekelec STPs on our network.

Where did you get the training, education and backround to get to where you are today in Telecom?

    Telecom

I've worked in several roles supporting voice, data and the convergence of the two over ATM and IP. I've been a Field Technician, Tier 2 Technical Support, Tier 3 Engineering and a Technical Manager. Over the years I've aquired several entry level certifications, Specialist certifications for two different companies and an Expert level certification.
Currently, I'm an Operations Manager supporting a team of engineers in both Texas and Singapore for a large Telecom Manufacturer.
