Hi Everyone, I was just wondering if anyone on the board teaches or works for Western Governors University. If so I would love to hear what you think about working for the organization. I like the concept behind their competency based education. I have a phone interview with them and would love to hear any applicable information that you can share. Thanks, Tim

Well I had my phone interview and it all seemed to go well. I was interviewing for a IT spot. What area are you looking at? WGU has a different learning model than most schools. It is a competency based education. So the students are given the tools and resources required to gain a certain body of knowledge. Then they must take some type of test, many of which can be industry standard certifications to prove their competency. Their instructors are called "mentors" and they serve as a resource to students to help walk them through any concepts they may be having difficulty with.
