I was just offered the chance to teach a "blended" Finance course, meaning that I teach on site, and the students can either come in person or submit assignments and pick up materials via blackboard. It has much of the discussion-board components of an online class. Anyone have experience with this? Impressions?
I personally like the "blended" format for some courses. It is esspeically helpful when going over complex ideas like in a business strategy course. Generally a blend course though has limited face time(like once a week) so it has the feel and appearance of an online course.
Both..Although I am not nor ever have been an instructor, I have had a couple of"blended" courses with instructors who teach both online and "blended" methods. As I stated before they felt very strongly that some courses are better taught by the "blended" method.
Thanks Tim; Interesting format. What is your experience on what % of people actually go to class as opposed to taking the online route?
actually in the blended courses I had there was a classroom requirement. so you were expected to go to certain number of classes.
