Anyone have this happen during the UoP hiring process?

I have been working with a faculty recruiter who has been fairly attentive and responds quickly to my emails. Until now. I had a phone interview, then was invited to complete all that other stuff, including the online Labs. I sent in my transcripts and teaching certificates. I was told the Content Area Approval Request would take about a week, but mine still says Pending.

I completed all of the required activities on 6-25 and I haven't heard a peep from them since. I email the recruiter last week to find out if she had received the fax I sent of my teaching certificates, but she didn't respond. I just emailed again.

Does the Content Area Request usually take this long? Can my recruiter not contact me until it is approved (or denied)? Or is this their way of dropping me? I can't figure it out, since everything was going so well. She said the training course I would be scheduled for starts 7-13, so I'm losing hope. What's the deal?????????

She got back to me. I'm approved to start the certification on 7-20. Good news for once!

UOP is a large school and the recruiters may have up to 300 applications they are sorting through and many candidates they have to get through the system. I know where I work full time (large online for profit) our online hiring system is getting an average of 450 applications per adjunct position we post. This is up from the average of 300 we were getting 6 months ago.
