Hi, A friend of mine has just enrolled in post-grad diploma at Rand Afrikaans University. She is wondering, now , if there are others out there who have any experience of this institution, or of general impressions that exist about Rand. Thanks.
Everything I've heard about it suggests that it's a good, solid school; I didn't know they offered distance learning programs to U.S. students, though, and would love to hear more about your friend's experiences along these lines, if s/he wouldn't mind -- I'm always happy to hear about another credible opportunity for folks pursuing postgraduate DL credentials. Well, she has found the post grad diploma she was looking for. There was no other of its kind in terms of content anywhere in the world. Yes, they do accept overseas applicants, though they seem a bit new to the idea given their awkward payment mechanisms which are being reviewed to make fee payment easier. Fees, as you can imagine, are very low considering that the Rand (the monetary unit, not the university) is struggling. She is very happy with it so far. I'll coax her into writing a comprehnsive review by end of this year. She only just started her course a few weeks ago. In my own case, I've just commenced a distance course for the Bachelor of Computing (Computer Science) at Deakin University in Australia. So far so good! I'll also provide review at end of semester.
