Another DL Alumnus: Wally Lamb

So I picked up my copy of the January-February 2003 issue of Utne (I realized I'd never gotten around to reading the article on Yerba Mate~) and there, on page 28, is a full-page advertisement for Union Institute and University. The poster boy is none other than Wally Lamb (author of I Know This Much is True and She's Come Undone), with the quote caption: "The Vermont College MFA in Writing Program changed my life and allowed me to build a foundation for my dreams." Well, that it apparently did. Vermont College was technically run by Norwich University rather than Union back when Wally graduated in 1994, but it was still a low-residency distance learning program. Chalk another one up.
