Re: Re: one more thing...(two, actually)

Assignments are lots and lots of writing -- research papers, concept papers, case studies, etc. I enjoy them, as most of the profs want you to relate what is being taught to your own personal and professional experiences and it has been fun to be able to apply so much of what I am learning to what I am already doing. There are four terms per year -- 3 of them are 10 weeks and the winter term is 7 weeks to give us a nice, long break over the holidays (we are off from just before Thanksgiving to just after the new year). I would agree that 10-15 hours a week per class would be just about right. I don't think you will be disappointed if you end up going with Amberton.

    Exams at Amberton(?)

I am seriously considering Amberton for my MBA. How do they handle exams (or are there any exams)?

    Thanks

    Makana793,

I see you are in Honolulu, looking for an MBA program - what do you know about Chaminade U.? I was looking at it myself, but the residency requirement wasn't doable. I presume you're familiar with their offerings? What is the story with them?

    Good luck!

Chaminade is a great school. They have good programs tailored towards the working adult. They are most famous for their masters in criminal justice. Chaminade is one of the very few schools that offer graduate education in the CJ field in Hawaii. The MBA program is great too, I have a friend going through it right now. I don't think there AACSB accredited though. The University of Hawaii has some online degrees in business and their AACSB accredited as well. Let me know if I can help.

No real exams...what you are learning is assessed through the written assignments -- the case studies, research papers, concept papers, etc. One of the profs I have had throws in some multiple choice questions as a part of the coursework, but more papers and case studies than anything else. I am really enjoying it and I am really learning a lot. I cannot recommend Amberton highly enough.
