Several months ago, I decided to raise 11 green tree frogs from tiny little tadpoles. I have watched them grow (they were so small I had to feed them special fruit flies from the pet shop). Now they are getting fat and robust. The problem is I just can't seem to work up the nerve to release them into my backyard ponds. I worry that they won't get enough to eat, blah, blah, blah, blah. The people at the pet shop just ask me if I want the usual when I go in for crickets. The usual is 60 small crickets BTW. I think even my wife is attached to the little buggers now. Anyway, Gotta go do a cricket run. See ya, Abner
Why would you be a bad person, just because you got attached to your little pets? A little bit nuts, maybe, but not a bad person.
He he he!!!!! Well, I did it. I released them a couple of days ago and they are doing great. They keep climbing onto the lily pads, and like to take dips in the pond!!!!! Here is what they look like: green tree frog - Bing Images Abner
One of the bittersweet truths of being a parent is that every step forward for them is a step away from you. I know, I know, they're only frogs. But still.
