http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/ref=s_sf_b_as/102-5730967-3082566 Nice to see that Professor Kennedy's new work is now out in the book shops! Prof. Kennedy is an intelligent poster to this forum.
He's a brilliant poster. I'd love an evening in a pub sharing foamy ones with him and just listening to him talk. Would probably be equivalent to a couple semester hours of university credit.
Professor Kennedy should do a drive-by of the forum. I'm sure we'd all like to hear how he's doing and that none would mind a plug for his book.
Link not working.... Let me echo all that's been said above! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1403947899/qid=1125006792/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-6940230-0400825?v=glance&s=books The amazon.com link decribes Gavin Kennedy's "Adam Smith's Lost Legacy" as an "accessible book, Gavin Kennedy takes a fresh look at Adam Smith's moral philosophy and its links to his political economy and his lectures on jurisprudence." It moves the story forward, showing how others used Smith's insights in ways he would have objected to. A philosopher who's made a career of Adam Smith's corpus since leaving the University of Chicago in 1997 has posted many of his articles, speeches, and reviews here http://www.bama.ua.edu/~jotteson/ scholarship.htm Consider it a teaser to buy Kennedy's more fulsome and comprehensive introductory book! -Orson
There is also a companion site to the book: http://www.adamsmithslostlegacy.com/index.htm I was hoping Dr. Kennedy was selling autographed copies through the site, but I think they are only regular ones.
