IAAR and Preliminary ACCM Accredited WFME Recognized
Preliminary is the main word you want to look at, seems it's going places though...

Read about this last year and apparently, they're now up and running! Interesting turn of events, they've also got a tuition back program (restrictions apply). Anyways, I found that this seems to be geared for American, Canadian, and Caribbean students...

Institution Website: ACSOM Caribbean medical school | American Canadian School of Medicine
Last years link: American Canadian School of Medicine in Dominica to open in 2023 | Caribbean News Now! (thecaribbeannewsnow.com)

I've written about such institutions on the Degree Forum before:
UMPI Collecting credits before applying? (degreeforum.net)
Caribbean Immigration (Med School Discount! - Secrets - Shhh...) (degreeforum.net)
Universities need pathways to postgrad (degreeforum.net)
University of Health & Humanities, Virgin Islands (UHHVI) (degreeforum.net)

    Who We Are

Unlike the for-profit medical schools in the region, American Canadian School of Medicine (ACSOM) is a non-profit university, not beholden to shareholders and corporations, entirely dedicated to providing its students with the highest quality education. Because it works in tandem with the Commonwealth of Dominica and local medical providers, ACSOM is uniquely positioned to raise the standard of healthcare for the local community.

    Shaaade.. I love it :D

Speaking generally, as with any non-profit school, it's possible there's a for-profit interest behind the curtain, like an online program manager or, er, on-site program manager.

With Caribbean medical schools, sometimes the medical school is one entity and a second entity, sometimes in the U.S., is a company providing services including student recruitment.

Its principals apparently have a close relationship with policymakers, and they've been invited to move into the facilities that Ross vacated a few years ago when they decamped for Barbados. I wish them well, and hope they grow to be a viable replacement for Ross there, but they do have pretty big shoes to fill.

How do the Carribbean school grads fare for residency matching?

It depends a great deal on which one.

About 68% for US citizens, compared to like 91% for osteopathic and 95% for allopathic grads in US programs. (On mobile so my link game is weak but Google.)

Edit: I had a link here and deleted it, which messed up the context. This is for all IMGs. Individual Carib schools may be higher or lower since the IMG numbers report everyone from Argentina to Zealand comma New.

The audience for a lot of Carib programs are students who would never get into an American program at all, so given that such a large chunk pass the USMLE and get in and out of residency is a testament in and of itself. But it's not a real solution to the American doctor shortage.

My son is applying. He has a BS in Physic and currently works as a fluid engineer. I will keep everyone updated on the process as it unfolds

I'm not suggesting he shouldn't, but if he isn't also applying to St. George's University in Grenada he really should, as it's much longer established and well regarded.
