I need some help with putting together my academic resume. What should an academic resume for someone who teaches as an adjunct include? Should I include in it my nonacademic experience, as well?
An academic resume (also referred to as a curriculum vita) is much more inclusive than a usual 1-2 business resume. Yes you will include non-academic experience, particularly if it is related to the courses that you wish to teach. A typical curriculum vita will include the following (the order may vary): Education (degrees earned) Licensures and Certifications Academic Employment History (including courses taught) Non-academic employment history Awards and recognitions Professional associations, service and activities Volunteer/community service and activities Grants authored Publications Presentations at conferences Projects or other activities related to the academic discipline I hope that this helps
