Gert: But most of us on this board are pusillanimous gadflies who sit behind our keyboards and freely pontificate despite our ignorance.

Timmy : Be careful Gert, Lest you be labeled as Sheila or her agent .:)):

Hmmm. I guess I have a hard time understanding this one. I haven't seen ANY cheap shots at new start up schools. Of course there is no way CCU, CPU, or K-W fit the description of a new start up school. Is there a school or at least a comment you had in mind?

    Virtual is different to distance?

It isn't my recommendation George, but then you may be making a difference between VIRTUAL and DISTANCE but what it is beats me:D

I'll stick with Keegan, Holmberg and the raft of others, as well as my own experience. Collegiality can be substituted, and face to face also doesn't sit well with everyone.

If you are going to argue the issue with delivery methods, maybe we should go back a few decades and bring back apprenticeship learning?

I had beeter tell the people in Arnhem Land, the children who study with the school of the air, all of Stotts students, and not forget Tom Head.

Studies are not as conslusive as you make or read them George. Sorry, but we'll never agree on this point. And if you deliver into Darwin by TV and CD-ROM and no physical presence, what do yuo call that?

People that participate in academic fraud are, in a way, a gift. They give the gift of laughter and amusement to others. They seem to generally have over blown egos (amongst other amusing attributes) which adds to their ability to amuse. Dr. Less Carr may be one of these because I find myself being very amused.

Thank you Dr. Les Carr and a special thanks to Dr. Les Carr's dear minion.
