    Tom,

By golly, I think you've got something there! I'll look into it. BTW, what does Laurentian offer? Do they offer a graduate degree by distance learning?

...and maybe you shouldn't necessarily believe eveything that you read ;)

Glad to hear it! FWIW, here's how I might do it at HUX:

    Master of Arts, Humanities
    General Humanities (Curriculum A)

    Phase I (10 units)
HUX 501 - Defining the Humanities: History
HUX 502 - Defining the Humanities: Literature
HUX 503 - Defining the Humanities: Music
HUX 504 - Defining the Humanities: Art
HUX 505 - Defining the Humanities: Philosophy

    Phase IIA--Interdisciplinary (9 units)
HUX 547 - World Religious Perspectives
HUX 548 - Values and Morality in 20th Century Thought
HUX 594F - Independent Study (Interdisciplinary): Creative Liturgy

    Phase IIB--Disciplinary (9 units)
HUX 572 - The Biblical Movement (Philosophy)
HUX 573 - Archetypal Criticism (Literature)
HUX 594A - Independent Study (Literature): Christian Poetry Project

    Phase III--Final Project (5 units)
HUX 598 - Final Project Proposal
HUX 599A - Thesis: Interdisciplinary Theology Topic

They offer an MA in Humanities by videoconferencing, if I understand correctly; not sure how the cost compares to HUX, but it might be worth looking into. Laurentian University is a a fairly prestigious old Catholic school, and probably has more theology options that CSUDH would (though, here again, you can do an awful lot with independent projects).

    Cheers,

    Tom,

Would what you have outlined above as a degree plan at HUX qualify me to pursue a theology doctorate, in your opinion?
