That is okay, I read an old psychology book (circa 1940’s) and it said you can no long classify someone as crazy just because they have messy hair. Is was stated like it was the greatest breakthrough of the 20th century!

I knew that. That's why I saved this thread as a .pdf. :D

If you read my original post more carefully, you will notice that I did not say that it was a corporate requirement for all Burger Kings. I said that there was one BK in one area where the owner of that franchise location required it. An owner of a franchise can do that, I know, I was a franchisee of another company many years ago. So, with all my due respect to you, I request that you take more care before you attack.

Oh. Wow. Heh. Guess it's fortunate I wasn't around back then.... I'm not having a bad hair day; it's more like I'm having a bad hair life.

No attach was intended and I even said it was not meant as nasty. I just meant to interject some facts that are listed on BKs site. I understand that there could be a minimum to apply and a minimum that the individual will accept because they are the acual owner. By the way, this was not directed toward you or anyone one person - just a general comment.

I think that saying is being desiminated by the universities. I recently heard that comment from a guy who works for me that just graduated from UC Davis. I just laughed and asked him if that was the case, why was he working under me with only an AA Degree, lol.

Having a degree opens doors, but its all up to you from there. There is a huge amount of people who earned their degree but have zero common sense and can't advance in their field. A degree helps, but being competent and having common sense is just as important.

Interesting assumption that you would be left cold. I've hired overqualified people in the past and found that they performed exceptionally and I was given plenty of notice when they left for other positions. I would view the benefit of hiring an aerospace engineer even on a temporary basis as:

    1) their stability, no calling in hung over or driving 90 mph to make a delivery 2) their creativity - I would guess that they could help figure out the most efficient means to accomplish certain tasks in the operation of your business. 3) they would be excellent ambassadors for your product while they are employed as well as when they leave for a new job. You would probably have a customer for life, as well as their friends and families. 4) it would create a buzz within the community, thereby giving your operation FREE advertising and drawing attention to 1800Flowers every time someone mentioned to someone else that an aerospace engineer worked for you.

    Just saying...:)
