I agree that it's unlikely to matter in practice. But I think that it should matter because I believe (and hope) that CCU will have needed to make real changes to its policies and programs to become accredited.

I also disagree with Rich that it shouldn’t matter much, especially in regards to the doctoral degrees issued before accreditation. Think of it. Of all the changes CCU had to make, the most significant one was dropping their doctoral programs. In other words, CCU with a doctoral program was unaccreditable.

Well, yes, but only because DETC doesn't accredit doctorates and not because there's anything wrong with CCU's doctorate.

Did I just say that?:( Yes, the reality is that few would mistake CCU's doctorate as it now stands as being anything close to accredited, but that isn't the issue above.

Even as I wrote it I thought about the doctorate issue. That would make a difference in the CCU/DETC situation. But not very much in practice.

Just speculation on my part, but assuming that CCU gains DETC accreditation and DETC's charter expands to academic doctorates in the future, I anticipate that CCUs doctoral programs (appropriately modified to meet DETC requirements) will be among the first to be recognized.

    Congratulations on your Masters (2nd?).

I'm almost done with mine (semi-tradional, the instructors come to us from Oklahoma, and we do some DL via personal arrangements)

Aren't you already feeling the itch to add a DBA, PhD, DA, etc to your list...

There must be something wrong with me, cause I am...

My wife is insisting a take a 1 year break minimum!

Congratulations Randell. You already have a bachelor's degree that is RA. In due course you will also earn another RA degree from Touro University. If CCU receives DETC accreditation, the utility of your two degrees from CCU will certainly increase. Keep it up. You are on the right track.

It has been said many times on this thread, yet I'll say it again.

    Congratulations!

Hey, while I'm on the subject of this thread I may as well take exception to Gus' post. There... I've taken exception!

    Regards,
