Trump is doing Putin's bidding for three reasons, I believe. First, Trump wants Russia's help to win the 2024 election. Second, Trump wants Putin's support in helping Trump make money in Russia. Third, Trump wants to make Biden look bad. Sending the country and even the world into chaos will help Trump by giving him ammunition to attack Bidden with.

Speaker Johnson is doing Trump's bidding because he's a sycophant to Trump. He's hoping that Trump will increase Johnson's power by appointing him to a post in Trump administration and/or support him as Speaker helping him to consolidate that position.

And when they (FBI, NSA, whatever agency investigates traitors and spies) catch him in the act this time, they should arrest him and put him in jail until his arraignment. No bail, because he's been demonstrated to be a repeat offender.

I haven't figured out Speaker Johnson yet. On the one hand, he claims to be a pure theocrat. But then again he seems to have a strong pragmatic streak. He does things that neither the Christian Nationalist MAGA types nor the fiscal Freedom Caucus will support and gets threatened with a motion to vacate but says, well, too bad, this and that have to get done whether you guys like it or not. At this point the fire eaters seem pretty much powerless. Of course the House Dems murmur something about supporting Johnson if absolutely necessary so he's not got reason to fear.

Frankly I find him hard to hate.

Well, you could always try harder?

    ;)

Just kidding, I don't really think it's a good idea to hate folks.

Oh, I have no trouble hating Trump for instance. "Comes natural" as Pogo might say. And there are (more than) a few others.

We will see when Senate deal on Ukraine, Israel and the border will be reached and will get to the House. If he blocks it - he will burn in Hell for it. Along with all the other MAGAggots and enablers involved. His weird anti-porn app on his phone won't save his Pharisee ass.

I wouldn't call Speaker Johnson a "Pharisee". He lacks the learning and mental discipline. More of a Sadducee. As to hell...well, who can say?

Now Trump is very unlikable. He's a flawed person that's not very nice to people. He has a grandiose sense of self-importance. He lives in a fantasy world that supports his delusions of grandeur and even infects right wing media with his lies. He needs constant praise and admiration. He has an overblown sense of entitlement. He exploits others without guilt or shame. He frequently demeans, intimidates, bullies, and belittles others. There's a whole lot there to dislike.

You may think that he is rather unique but, he is absolutely not at least in the above description. The above description is almost entirely taken from a general description of someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I've known a couple of other people that suffered from NPD. Their similarity is amazing. Saying that they suffer from NPD is absolutely true but also everyone around them suffers as well and when the person is head of one of the major parties in this country then the whole country suffers along with them.

In my Public Defender days, we would have said that Trump acts like a "client".

That's it! Speaker Johnson is a nasty piece of work, perhaps, but he sees things as they really are and he acts on what he sees. That's why I'm unable to hate him.

As someone who is a licensed psychiatric professional. The APA has recommended that we can not make a comment on an individually without interviewing them directly. Despite is in done in the court room when someone life is on the line.

On the other hand: I'm obviously not a licensed professional and am under no obligation to follow APA recommendations. Trump is an extreme obvious case of NPD. Everything said about him in that paragraph is obvious. Trump is a public figure, an extremely polarizing public figure. Many books have been published that label him as narcissistic. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=trump+narcissist&i=stripbooks&crid=20VPGUMMA8FJ9&sprefix=trump+narcissist%2Cstripbooks%2C127&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

Neither am I, Bill. And you're right. I Googled 'Trump + narcissism' and I got 3,140,000 hits in 0.29 seconds. That says at least something. The APA folks don't like it? They can go prosecute Google! :)

Then again - just as an experiment, I Googled 'Trump + Nazism' and got TEN TIMES the hits - 31,300,000. So... uh... ??? What's it all mean? Right - it means I spend too much time on Google.

    Naw, never mind, Google away!

Personality disorders are the hardest to truly diagnose and treat due to their complex and fluid presentation. They are susceptible to worsening with age due to many factors.

Note. I am referring to general terms. the information is just that information that is not direction to any individual living or dead

Oh, I can diagnose Trump from my living room. Technically speaking, he's what my mother in law (of blessed memory) would call a "shtinker".

I think he may be losing his marbles though. He just claimed that Haley was in charge of security on Jan. 6. Or maybe he did anyway; it's off the internet.

Shtinker sounds like something my Mother would say.

Yes, when I saw him talking about Nikki being in charge of Capital security I think I saw a few marbles bouncing off of Trump's podium onto the floor.

I only got 6.1 million hits for "Biden Nazism", so he must be okay. ;)
