    While this is a fascinating phenomenon, there seems to be a bit of anthropomorphizing here in the way these things are described. At least this article didn't refer to them "screaming". :rolleyes:

    That's because deep in the forest, where the Arabidopsis thaliana grows, nobody can hear you scream... :)

    Anthropomorhizing helps to liven up a dull thread - I hope. "They" did it - so I'll help out, as far as I'm able. It's a dark and lonely job, but somebody's got to do it.

    There is another documentary that might of interest on this subject. It is called "Plants Behaving Badly - The Intriguing Behavior of Extraordinary Plants." It has a part that deals with carnivorious plants.
