Is tuition free for anyone admitted? Or are there certain requirements that have to be met in order to qualify?

This sounds like the scam in clothes etc., e.g shirts "regular $110 now $29." Some stores label everything with fake "regular" or "suggested retail" prices and a purported huge discount. NOBODY has EVER been charged the "regular price" on the ticket. It's insane - a fiction to make people feel good -- like they're getting a big discount, when actually they're paying the full going price -$29 in the case of the shirt.

The "regular price" at CLI is $1,000 a credit. That's almost incredibly steep. Especially for a school in the applicant stage of the accreditation process! NOBODY can predict the outcome - and the school itself should NOT imply an outcome. But I guess it'll make some people feel good, when they pay "only" $300 per credit. But not me.

I see $1,000 as the price very few pay - or can afford to. And ABSOLUTELY NOBODY should. The optics of this thing (except of course, the free part) are not good.

I'm particularly averse to a religious school indulging in this kind of "retail twistery." I wonder - WWJD? IIRC, He really kicked some butt. with the money-changers...

I think you may have CLI and Brite mixed up in a few different places here. Brite is accredited by SACS. Also ATS, for what it's worth.

I was talking about CLI. CLI is an applicant with ABHE.
Yes. I thought this applied to CLI because that was the school under discussion in the immediately preceding posts. Just now I looked at the "Handbook" and yes, you're correct. It's BRITE.

Then I'll amend things slightly. I STILL think $1,000 per credit is an unreal price, regardless of accreditation. I still think it's like the "retailers' dance" I described - and that NOBODY should EVER pay (or be required to pay) the full-whack $1000 per credit.
Free is good. $300 is reasonable. $1,000 is off-the-planet.

And I still think this kind of "pricing model" is out of place in a religious school. And my accreditation remarks are of course, irrelevant. Brite is accredited as you say. Sorry for causing confusion - and being confused, myself.

It's not Brite's doing. The scholarship funds are from an entity that is separate from the school. I forget if it's a foundation, company, or family but I do remember that I was told that they told Brite they would fund the scholarships for every master's student for three years.

The scholarships are automatic for every master's student that is admitted, until Fall 2026. No cap on the number and no special requirements. Just apply as usual and if admitted, you're funded until Fall 2026. If you're not finished by then your tuition is reduced to $300 per credit and you're eligible to receive Brite's own scholarships and grants. This 3 year scholarship program is not funded by Brite.

Thanks. I failed to realize that. It changes the picture.

I had looked at that place before I went to Liberty Uni.

The full scholarship covering tuition and fees for master's students no longer seems to be a 3-year pilot program ending Summer 2026. The announcement has been removed from the home page and the scholarship is mentioned on the tuition and financial aid page with no mention of it ending: https://brite.edu/tuition-and-fees-scholarships-aid.

Do they offer online degrees? I can't seem to find them listed.

Yes, they have online degrees. You can find the courses for the programs and when they're offered in the Schedule of Classes. To find out what courses each degree requires, consult the Student Handbook.

I think it is, actually. Although, they are extremely flexible with their payment arrangements. I greatly appreciated the school's founder, the late Dr. Kenneth Talbot. He was a friend of mine, and a very wise and godly man. I have wondered how the institution has been doing since his passing. I highly recommend Whitefield. It has an unbelievable faculty, and its alumni include many notable theologians.

An unaccredited doctorate (PhD) could set you back around ten thousand if I recall correctly.

I don't dispute the skill of the faculty.

*Just checked and it is 8 to 16,000 dollars. The upper end and you are getting towards some accredited programs. Unless you know of a double super secret scholarship/discount.
