"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV).

Some people claim to be Christians and they are not. Some try to use Christianity. I do not know if they person in question is really a Christian.

Christians are people who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God starts working in the them to create something more, but they are not going to be completely perfect until they are face to face with Jesus. They can still make mistakes. They can work to make up for their mistakes. There can be forgiveness.

I am a Christian. I believe in the Bible. I believe in being truthful about my degrees. I believe in being truthful about my degrees even when some try to tell me the colleges and degrees I got are worthless.

I didn't know there were people who thought they didn't.

He was busted for fake claims of degrees from real schools.

This is why people use diploma mills.

In another thread, a poster was emphatic that diploma mill "degrees" were useless, while I insisted they often had a lot of use. This is one reason why.

If this person had milled degrees--or degrees from some unaccredited give-'em-all-a-doctorate Bible college, he likely could have slid by with a weasel-worded answer about them. "I didn't know they weren't accredited. They told me they were." "I did real work." "Accreditation is voluntary." You know the excuses.

But this dude just flat-out lied in a way he could not escape. So he didn't. He split instead. Hey, Swaggart made a comeback from far worse. Twice. There's still hope!

Gosh! I guess no one gets sarcasm. Everyone lies. I don't care if you are the pope. I don't think we are qualified to determine who is a Christian. Only God is qualified to judge. Everyone, including those who try to be Christlike, sins daily. Those who believe in God (who is not a Christian/Muslim/Jewish God, but simply God) know that we must ask for forgiveness constantly.

I returned it. Didn't you get it?

Christians, as you're implying, are as subject to human foibles as are anyone else.

That guy told a BIG lie. He's gonna need to ask for a whole lot of forgiveness to get past that.

There's no such thing as a big lie. A lie is a lie. All sins are sins. The only people he would need to ask for a whole lot of forgiveness from are humans. They can be very unforgiving. He only need to ask God for forgiveness once and it will be forgiven.

    Well, we disagree.
There are no sins. Just right and wrong as our human society decides.
A very unproven hypothesis. And an unnecessary one.

We disagree on all those points. This is a perfect point for me to discontinue further discussions on religion.

    Be blessed, Rich!

We're cool; each accommodating the other's view.

One thing we can agree on: this guy dug himself a DEEP hole.

    Partial excerpt follows:

It sounds like he has attended no schools at all since all 3 confirmed he hadn't graduated. I'd be curious to see exactly which degrees he was claiming though.

Military Intelligence "Corp"? Methinks they should be looking into some of these other claims.

Also, being attached to SOF as an Intelligence Analyst or Officer (assuming that's what he was) does not make one Special Operations any more than being human resources at the CIA makes you a spy.

So with no degree they couldn't have commissioned. They exclusively refer to their service in the "US Army Military Intelligence Corp" and never an actual MOS or role.

Seems like the sort of lie someone would cover up with by saying their records are classified. I wonder if their military service will turn out to be false too.

I've submitted a request to the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) to settle this one based on what I've learned from This Ain't Hell (TAH).

Here's an example of their work: https://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=87205

He didn't lose his job as far as I know. He did take heat and had to apologize for tone. He was then affirmed but chose to resign at the end of his term.

It was unfortunate. Dr. Moore was an articulate spokesman and advocate for the right approach.

People lost all reason where DJT was concerned. Faith became secondary to his messiah like figure. Huge embarrassment to evangelicals. Many Southern Baptists didn't want to hear their churches and organizations had issues with abuse and treatment of women.

Well, I've come to the conclusion that this story just doesn't add up. McLaurin may have had military service, but I doubt that it is the Intelligence Officer service that he claims.

Fact: The National Personnel Records Center can't find a military record for a soldier named Willie McLaurin.
Fact: In this video, McLaurin claims to have completed college in 3 years and commissioned as an Intelligence Officer through ROTC

    .

He cannot have done so since his academic record was faked.

He also claims that he was a "commander" over the units that learned morse code (?!) and that he had "small deployments" throughout the country (nobody in the military would call a TDY or PCS a deployment.) He claims 6 years service. As the kids say, I am sus. I've sent what I found over to the stolen valor group who can probably do better work than I on chasing down the finer points.

Well, that sounds like we're approaching Stolen Valor status.
