Redemption Seminary is an evangelical distance institution that offers a competency-based MA in Biblical Studies. The school has a close relationship with Faithlife (i.e., Logos Bible Software) and is on the DEAC's "Institutions to be Considered" list.

    Logos software is credible.

Indeed. I use it twenty hours of every day.

It's important to note that DEAC has no candidacy period, and being considered for accreditation has no intermediate status. A school is not accredited by DEAC until it is.

My experience with DEAC is that they almost never say "no." They will say "not yet" for years, if necessary. This is no negative reflection on the school in question, but it adds nothing to its gravitas, either.

More than $10k seems kind of expensive for a competency-based unaccredited MA. And unlike many competency-based programs there's no way to speed it up and save money that way.

Agreed and I'd imagine the tuition will only increase once they receive DEAC accreditation. Seems like quality material in their program, however.

At first glance, I thought it said, "Dr. Gayle Doorknobs," haha.

I wonder if their alumni association calls itself "Beyond Redemption"...
