Please consider doing a search of this board. You're more likely to get immediate and helpful information as opposed to hoping someone with that specific experience happens to be reading this board at this time.

Also, if you do that, you'll be able to post more-specific questions that people--even those without direct experience with GCU--might be able to assist with.

I was in a forum for current and prospective GCU students on Facebook, and know one GCU grad. I was not impressed. Many lacked strong writing skills, even when taking into account that it was Facebook (where people might write more informally.) There was lots of complaining about poor grades on papers but when they included samples it was clear why they were evaluated the way they were.

I think it's a good "tick in the box" degree if you need one, but you'll probably be far better served with another option. Here are a couple:

These programs are accredited and inexpensive but it would be helpful to learn more about your specific goals. Are you a current teacher looking to upgrade, or someone looking to get out of teaching and into Curriculum and Instruction or a related field? Maybe none of these. The right program will depend on what you want to get out of it.

    Hello,
Thank you for the reply. Before I posted, I did do a full search on Grand Canyon University on this site but many of the posts were about different programs. I was looking to complete one of the MEd programs, specifically the master's in educational administration. I know it is a very specific program, but hopefully, someone might have some info as to that program. Thank you all in advance!

    Hello Dustin!
Thank you for the post. It is funny that you brought up WGU and ACE. I actually completed my Master's through WGU (a different program) but the educational admin program they offer wouldn't work. As for ACE, I have also taken classes through them for educational leadership but the structure wasn't the best. It is either sink or swim and very writing intense (which I am sure most master's programs are).

I heard about GCU for the price as well as offering the educational admin program. I just wasn't sure how the program is structured in regards to weekly assignments, papers, tests, etc.

If you know of anyone that completed any of their MEd programs through Grand Canyon, I would love to hear about their experience. Thanks again, Dustin!
