I have a few queries related to BTEC Pearson vs ABE UK.

    1. Which one is better ABE or BTEC for a Level 6 Diploma in Business Management (QCF)?
    2. ABE claims that ABE UK Level 6 diploma is equivalent to Bachelors Degree, Graduate Diploma BTEC Advanced Professional Award, Certificate or Diploma Level 6
    3. Which is more recognized & recommended? ABE UK or BTEC?

Beats me. Need someone else, here. I DO know that Level 6 is equivalent to a Bachelors on the Qualification Framework. It's equivalent - but not a degree in itself. How you'd go about getting a degree once you have the cert. - or even IF you can do it directly - I have no idea. None whatsoever - beyond my ken. Maybe tomorrow...

Seriously, is there no one in the UK who can answer this type of enquiry in about two seconds for you? Not complaining or being sarcastic. Just surprised. Can't BTEC or ABE themselves help?

I agree with Mac Juli. There ist nothing wrong with an ABE Level 6 diploma, but BTEC has wider recognition because it has the stronger brand.

    Hello!

Maybe it is worth to add that there are many other institutions that offer those Diplomas. If they are regulated by Ofqual, they are generally fine (ATHE, OTHM etc to name a few), but keep in mind that the latin phrase caveat emptor is a phrase worth remembering. Some Diplomas you are going to find are dirt cheap, "endorsed" - or some other weasel wording - by some institutions ... and have a very limited value.

In some cases only the material value.

    Best regards,
    Mac Juli

Thanks Mac you are very true, and I like the caveat emptor is a phrase :)

I beleive as per your first reply, out of all BTEC is well-known and has a good reputation.

If it's Latin -- I like it! Good to see it still alive. That and a finely-tailored suit go well together. Add a Maserati to complete the picture. :)

I like "caveat emptor et pereat venditor." May the buyer beware and the seller croak! (As long as I'm not selling, that is...)

As I young guy, I wore sometimes T-Shirts with slogans in Latin. My favorite one was "futue te ipsum". If my fellow workers only knew... :)

The question is are you planning to utilize education and the diploma in the UK or outside the UK?
Are you needing it for further education in the future, job, or both?

I also of the opinion that BTEC has a wider recognized brand with international recognition.
The BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) been around for over 35 years.

As to how are the lev 6 diploma may be evaluated it depends, it may or may not be equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

Also one need to have appropriate lev 4, 5 BTEC or equivalent in order to enter in to Lev 6 program.

Oh, is this the case? In 2013, I was allowed to enter a BTEC Level 7 programme directly (and did not even have an university degree or something similar). Did they change this?
