So you know how when you go into one of those outlet malls, and the sweater says "their price $399 our price $199" on the tag? This is that. People perceive a discount as "saving" and think they're getting a deal - completely missing the fact that they're about to drop $199 for a sweater they could get for $29 at Macy's or $3.49 at Goodwill. Spending is spending - not saving. But hey, it's you're money.
