I think this guy says it best. I no longer see the value of attending Rock Creek No Where Town CC when you can go to Florid Tech.
Although it's getting better, as long as there is a negative stigma around distance learning, Rock Creek CC could be a better name than Florida Tech. If you live in Wyoming right next to Rock Creek, sometime hiring in Wyoming would probably feel better about your experience in education. My biggest concern about going to Fort Hays is that I am nowhere near Kansas. I would much rather get a degree via distance from a local school, than one very far away. I feel the same way even about big names. Arizona State is probably the biggest name school that has a lot of online options. I'd still rather go to Rock Creek online if I lived near it, than Arizona State if I never even visited Arizona. No as we keep progressing and people are more open to distance learning, I think my opinion could change.
