My Experience with UNISA

    If your goal is graduate credits for an educator, there are plenty of universities offering standalone, self-paced graduate courses expressly for that purpose. I think the most expensive version I found was $400 per course for 1 credit.

    If you need credits for that reason, that is likely the best way to go. Embarking on a research degree is not likely to help you "bank" credits. also, while UNISA is a very reputable university, if I were a teacher, I would be cautious about it anyway. The only reason is that teachers and government employees caught the most publicity when they used unaccredited degrees (including a myriad of Liberian degrees) for promotion and salary purposes.

    Americans have proven themselves incapable of understanding that "Africa" has many diverse regions (see "stupid reactions to Ebola") so the word "Africa" on your resume, legitimate as it may be, may conjure up ghosts of degree scandals past.
