    Texman,

You can say that again. The course work alone will take about 2-3 years.

    edo wave,

I started the Heriot-Watt DBA in the early 2000s, but I don't think their ciriculum was developed as the American system's. That alone will leave to much frustration for Alex. Alex will not be able to obtain an advanced degree from a RA univerisity without putting-in what's required for a degree of that level.

    RF Valve,

You are incorrect.I can't talk about UOP or CTU, but I can speak about Walden because I'm currently a Ph.D student in the field of Management. It takes the average student no less (or more than) 3 years to complete the course work alone! Successfully completing the prospectus/proposal/dissertation is another problem in itself. I've encountered students who've been with Walden for 7 years (and counting). That does't mean that it will take the average student that long, but it does indicate that obtaining the degree is no walk-in-the-park. It's easy to enter Walden, but it's hard to leave. I suspect it's the same for other RA online universities. They have to meet similar requrements to maintain regional accreditation. Alex's request is going to be hard to acheive.

You can't get a fast Ph.D. from any RA university. Completing a Ph.D requires time; much time.

    RF Valve,

Obtaining a Phd from Walden is not short or easy accomplishment. The course work will take at least 3 years.

I don't mean to take away from your larger point but many people are opposed to entrance exams because they are at best pointless and at worst outright harassment.

SAT Scores No Longer Important to Some Colleges

I know multiple colleges in my state that no longer require the SAT or ACT. Indeed, my own hope is that is the crisis in legal education does anything it gets rid of the awful LSAT which has consistently been shown to have a correlation no greater than .5, or a coin flip.

The LSAT's only purpose is to weed out people - nothing more.

Having been through the traditional American PhD system, I would say the Heriot-Watt curriculum is more developed, and more coherent, especially for the distance learner, IMHO.
