    Hey Bruce,

It's not a certificate program, but APU has that grad program in legal studies. When I was contemplating law school, I observed that the courses in that program were essentially the same as the first leg of law school. No word on how good they are though, but my experience with APU was good in relation to history and political science.

    Hey Matt,

Thanks for the tip....I was looking to avoid another formal degree program, although my resolve may be weakening (see "Program of the Week" thread). What I'm looking for is some type of certification in Law or Legal Studies, not Criminal Justice/Criminology (I have plenty in that regard already).

Thanks for the tips, I'm more looking for American programs....Australian programs would be very interesting, but I'm looking to pad the resume a bit with a Law/Legal studies certificate; my current interest (Forensic Psychology) is the intersection of Psychology and the legal system, so I'm looking to add some American Law/Legal Studies courses, not CJ or Criminology.

Bruce, you might be interested in the graduate certificate in Forensic Criminology offered via distance education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Of particular interest might be these courses:

    44.543 Forensic Psychology - Available Spring 2012!
44.545 Criminal Mind and Behavior - Available Spring 2012!
44.546 Mental Health and Criminal Justice - Available Spring 2012!

    From their website,

"Interest is expected from people in the fields of criminal justice, nursing/public health, law and paralegal studies, psychology, and social work who wish to expand their expertise in forensic criminology including mental health applications.

Students in this program focus on populations being served by state and federal court systems, state and federal correctional systems, law enforcement agencies, mental health facilities, and juvenile facilities."

What about a paralegal certificate? There are a lot of good schools that offer ABA-approved paralegal certs via distance education.

Thanks, I can actually earn that by taking two more course, since my M.A. from UML has all the necessary courses except for two. Definitely on my "to do" list someday.

I'm more looking for graduate-level certificates, but thanks!
