That's entirely possible. They're a little fast with misleading information, but not untruths, and it's a good sign they don't claim some bogus "accreditation".

Really? You think their 5-day MBAs are legitimate?

Well, no, when you put it that way. I must have missed that part, I kind of skim these sometimes. :)

Although, there was that one guy who did all the tests for a Heriot-Watt MBA in one day, wasn't there?

You're correct, Linfield -- advance to the next round! :)

The .edu domain itself is no guarantee, though. Any unaccred. school - good bad or indifferent that had such a domain prior to Oct 2001 was "grandfathered" - i.e. got to keep it! Examples of unaccred. schools with .edu domains abound. This is a Calif. approved school, not accredited, that will serve as one such example: California Pacific University I think CPU is a fairly good unaccred. I won't use mill-url's, don't want to help them advertise - but there are a fair number with .edu domains.

I know I'm late getting to this discussion but yes this was a start up university. I know because I was working on this project with Dr. Williams. The site is still up but the university never got off of the ground. It was based on the British style of higher ed but I don't think he ever got as far as designing all of the courses and getting state approval. I left the project only after a few months. The intent wasn't to set up a diploma mill but a legitimate school. No one has ever enrolled in the ITTL-DRC because it never gained state approval to enroll students.

I don't know if my opinion account, but there are two problems I can see: 1) What's up with the name? 2) The tuition is really high, which one can get a same degree from decent academic institution with accreditation. Even though if the program is FREE, I would not like to have ITTL-DRC name on my resume; and especially for terminal degree. In fact, Lloyd Williams University sounds better than ITTL-DRC.

The name was based on his consulting business the Institute for Transformational Thought and Learning (ITTL formerly at The Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning, ITTL | The Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning). I agree the tuition is really high. I think that he was trying to target a specific demographic (wealthy international students) but didn't do any market research on how to cost out his degree. Lloyd is truly brilliant in terms of solving organizational issues and he's a great teacher but a bit misguided when it comes to creating a business and utilizing his resources to do so. I would highly recommend taking a class or seminar from him but I don't think you'll ever see him truly launch a university.

The name was from his consulting business: The Institute for Transformational Thought and Learning (ITTL) which was found at The Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning, ITTL | The Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning but that site is no longer valid. I'm not sure where the site moved or if it's still operating. So the his idea was to build off of the consultation component. I'm not sure where he came up with the tuition figure. I think Dr. Williams was aiming for the wealthy and just put a number out there based on what some prestigious institutions were charging. Dr. Williams is a great teacher and I would recommend taking a class from him or seminar IF he's teaching it for another institution. He is however weak in the business planning and start-up area which is why this never got off the ground.
