I'm so sorry to see all the devastation in Japan. I've been watching film on CNN, youtube, etc. and can't really watch any more. Who knows how many are dead? Thousands, I'm sure. So sad.
The company I work for has the global head quarters in Japan and we were getting some live updates on a conference call today. There has been minor structural damage to some of the factories and the main office in Tokyo. It is terrible.
So far, 200-300 bodies have been recovered  Likely only a fraction of what is going to be found over the next few weeks. The video is unreal, entire cars and houses being swept away like toys in a bathtub. YouTube - TimesCast - March 11, 2011
And this is in the country most prepared, of all countries, for this type of disaster. Watching the skyscrapers swaying 400km away in Tokyo, it is not hard to imagine the extent of the damage and loss of life if they had not been building to such high standards. What hit me hardest was that this 8.9 was 8000x stronger than the recent quake in NZ. 8000x....can't imagine how Christ Church would have been left had this hit there. Overwhelming...
I said "recovered" in the previous post, that's what one source told me, but another source is saying that those 200-300 are just ones that have been confirmed as swept away in buildings and cars. Either way, the result is the same, but I want to be as accurate as possible.
Sorry everyone, but the situation just got a whole lot worse Explosion at Japanese nuclear plant raises fears - USATODAY.com
i have not been able to watch any news today and just found this After the tsunami, the nuclear threat: Radiation fear as two more N-plants are hit by failures | Mail Online are there updates? things better or worse?
I feel so awful about everything that has happened! I've also watched all of the news footage and youtubes and my heart aches. At first they were reporting just a couple hundred deaths, now its well over a couple thousand. It's just terrible, I wish the best for them! I was able to donate to the relief through my wireless provider, I recommend anyone else that wants to help to do the same!
Yes, i am very sad to see that. I think 1700 people died yet. I heard japan has again chance for tsunami. The nuclear reactor had damaged and devastated lots buildings and industries.....
Japan is asking for help, since it's been badly damaged and lots of people lost their homes. Japan was hit by 3 earthquakes , tsunami and a volcanic eruption was reported. They obviously need help! So currently people are trying to help Japan more than Africa.
We don't focus on degree mills too much but enough to know that there are people in the world ready and willing to take advantage of us. Unfortunately this is also true when it comes to relief efforts. Scammers use Japanese earthquake for charity donation fraud - 3/15/2011 - Computer Weekly If you decide to make a donation to help the people of Japan please be sure that you're giving your money to a reputable organization, not a con man.
Wow, they move quickly. I'm tempted to hope that the punishment for that crime would be cruel and unusual.
Well, they've had to pull the workers off the nuclear power plants due to radiation leak. We could volunteer these 'scum' to go in and hold the water hoses for a while....
This is really a bad phenomenon and I've heard that its likely 10,000 people were dead, missing and lost their homes.
