It's funny how fake diplomas look so official, and all the services the diploma mills provide are funny. I remember I was on a bus to someplace, and me and another gentleman from Canada who was about 59 or 60 got to chatting. He started talking about how important education is and how he instills that value in his family, especially since he has a Doctorate. I said "oh, that's great! Where did you get your Doctorate?", he says "Let me show you"... now at this point, I'm wondering how exactly he's going to "show me"? He reaches into his wallet and pulls out a diploma CARD, and right then I knew something was amiss. When I read the name "Universal Life Church", it took everything in me not to say at the tops of my lungs, "Hey, guy... YOUR DEGREE IS FAKE!!!" FAKE, FAKE, FAKE!!! But I just did the grin and bear.

At the end as we were about to part ways, he asked me for my number so we could keep in touch. Almost like a reflex I gave him the number to the enrollment office of the then current school I was studying with. Hopefully he got the message, and an education.

UMass-Lowell;

My UML diploma looks similar, but the paper is more brown, the major is not listed, Lowell is not mentioned anywhere on the diploma until "given at Lowell", and the font of everything on my real diploma is nearly identical, which it clearly isn't in this case.

I call shenanigans on that one.
